A tape measurer, because every project starts with one.
2. Are you a plant fanatic, or is your green thumb lacking?
I am a plant fanatic; plants make spaces feel more alive and are therapeutic. You can never have to many I have X amount.
3. What’s your favorite HGTV or DIY Network series?
Restored by The Fords, and Home Again with The Fords. I was fortunate enough to make those shows with my younger sister.
4. In your opinion what’s the most underrated tool in your toolbox?
The razorblade.
5. Best home purchase for under $100?
La Creuset French Press and Hot Water kettle.
6. What is one project you tell people to NOT do as DIY?
Anything plumbing or eletrical work. Hire a professional because if you do something wrong the consequences could be dire.
7. Tell us about your pet(s).
I don’t have any pets right now. Soon!
8. What’s your favorite paint color?
Black paint for moody spaces.
9. What’s one outdoor tip for big impact in landscaping or curb appeal?
Well-manicured lots. Think fresh cut grass, gardens…
10. What do you recommend as a rule of thumb for mixing patters or materials (i.e metals) in design and décor projects?
Don’t over-do it, stick to 3-4. You don’t want your space to be too busy.
11. What is your favorite type of music to listen to when you’re working?
I have a work playlist that is my go-to. It has a variety of music.
12. What’s your next home project?
New hardwood floors in the cabin.
13. What home trends are you loving? What styles do you think will emerge in the future?
The use of earth tones, and natural colors.
14. Which HGTV / DIY Network star would you most like to work with and why?
Hilton Carter. I think we would design and style cool spaces in the city.
15. What do you enjoy about being at a home show?
Seeing new products and finding new materials.

The Cabin Project… Making my dream cabin for my family.
The Carnival Project… I am turning a commercial warehouse into a living space.

Wall Signs with quotes.

My advice is “What can we do to make the space more relaxing and inviting.”
